Ear Update - Miracles Still Happen!

(from Jay)

Today was interesting....inspiring!

Last week, while visiting my nurse practitioner, I had my NP and her nurse look in my right ear and then look at me in disbelief.  It was like they saw an alien in my ear.  Both said it was something they had never seen before.  My nurse practitioner said that my ear drum looked so severely perforated that she could see straight into my inner ear.  Judging by their response, it must have looked pretty bad.  They immediately went and scheduled an appointment with an ENT in Cape.  They were concerned that I might need surgery or at least time to heal...and all of a sudden my trip to China was threatened.  I couldn't believe that in the same week we got our travel approval, I was also
receiving this news.  Would I be unable to go?  Would our trip have to be delayed?

I shared the news with our church family, and just asked that they would pray for healing.

The hard part was waiting for Monday.

Today, sitting in the chair at the ENT, I waited to hear the prognosis.  Was it bad?  Was it fine?  What?  After a few minutes, the doctor looked at me and told me, "you're fine...your ear drum looks healthy to me."  I had to ask him to repeat that back to me.  But he assured me that I was fine, and he followed it with saying, "you don't need me...you can fly anywhere you choose!"  Praise the Lord!  I walked out smiling today, and could not wait to call Camille!

Next was I knew that I had to go back and see my nurse practitioner this afternoon.  So around 3:00, I went to her office, and asked if I could see her for just a minute.  I met her in an exam room, and asked her to grab her scope and look in my ear.  She looked, and at first said, "it looks better".  I then asked her if it looked "better", or did it look "normal"...she looked again, looked at me and said...it looked "normal".

I remember telling her, "isn't that cool?"...and I could tell that this seemed to puzzle them even more.  As I left, all I could think to say is, "I serve a mighty God!".

I share this story, because I believe that God healed my ear.  Why?  Honestly, I think it was just to restore my faith...to remind me that He is sovereign and in control and all powerful.  I think He did it just to make me smile and trust Him more.  I thank Him for such an awesome gift!

It reminds me of one of my favorite verses, Jeremiah 32:27, "I am the Lord, the God of all mankind.  Is anything too hard for me?"...which leads me to ask myself...why do I doubt?
